The Rasoira hydropower plant demonstrates how existing infrastructure can be transformed into a modern and efficient energy solution. Instead of constructing new facilities in a sensitive alpine environment, the project reuses a historic 15 km water tunnel originally built in the 1960s, converting it into a controlled hydropower system.
Global Hydro delivered the complete electromechanical equipment and developed a customized turbine solution tailored to the confined underground installation and changing hydraulic conditions. Through advanced engineering, modular turbine design and precise on-site installation, the project successfully integrated modern technology into existing infrastructure, creating a highly efficient and sustainable hydropower solution.
