At a Swiss hydropower plant, Global Hydro was entrusted with the full revitalization of two horizontal-axis Pelton turbines, originally commissioned in the 1960s.
The first unit (Machine Group 2) had suffered from significant wear, particularly in the nozzle system, which limited operation to single-nozzle mode and reduced output. In response, Global Hydro carried out a comprehensive revitalization, including the overhaul of inlet components, nozzle assemblies, and servomechanisms. Full dual-nozzle functionality was restored, resulting in increased efficiency, stable operation, and extended service life.
Machine Group 1 is scheduled for revitalization in 2025–2026, ensuring that both units meet future performance and reliability standards.
